Due
to the equal focus on both Monmouth and Ocean counties, MODC takes
a two-county regional approach to issues. Some of the recent actions
MODC has taken include:
Leading
the effort to launch a technology incubator in the Monmouth-Ocean
county region.
Supporting
extending passenger rail service from Lakewood through western Monmouth
County to Newark and New York.
Supporting
many of the goals of the State Development and Redevelopment Plan,
but opposing the implementation of the Plan through the vehicle
of the Coastal Zone Management Rules as proposed.
Supporting
continued federal funding for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects
as they apply to shore protection and coastal erosion.
Supporting
the renewal of the Transportation Trust Fund and the Intermodal
Surface Transportation Efficiency Act (ISTEA).
